Bill Love age 87 of Spruce Pine passed away Monday October 10, 2022, at Peak Resources of Cherryville.
Born in Mitchell County he was a son of the late Horace Lee and Maggie Huskins Love. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a daughter, Linda Kay Love and two sisters, Ada Mae McKinney, and Annie Lee Love.
Bill was a veteran of the US Army and had worked as a security guard for Unimin. He was a devoted member of Berry Chapel Baptist Church where he ran the sound system for many years, he liked to play music, liked to go flying and enjoyed teaching Bible School at the Sunshine Hill Apartments.
Left to cherish his memories are his sons, Billy Ray Love and fiancé Tressia of Shelby, NC, Randy Love of Hickory, NC and Scott Gouge and wife Betty of Marion, NC, and a daughter Anita Faye Love of Spruce Pine. He is also survived by eight grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and several nieces and nephews.
A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Thursday, October 13, 2022, from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Berry Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 2:00 pm on Thursday, at the church with the Rev’s Greg Hollifield and Alvin Carpenter officiating. Interment will be in the Berry Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery.
In lieu of flowers memorial donations may be made to Webb Funeral Home 128 Roan Road Spruce Pine, NC 28777 to help the family with funeral expenses.
