Linda Metcalf Gillespie, age 80, of Burnsville, went home to be with the Lord on October 12th, 2022.
A native of Yancey County, she was born on January 26th, 1942 to the late Byrd and Myrtle Hunter Metcalf. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her loving husband, Joseph Carroll Gillespie.
Left to cherish her memory is her sister, Jerri Storie of Burnsville; daughter: Audria Lynn Gillespie Briggs and husband John, of Bakersville; grandchild, Jonathan (Hunter) Briggs of Marion; as well as nephews, Joel Storie of Raleigh, and Adam Storie of Burnsville.
Funeral services will be held in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home on Saturday, October 15th, 2022 at 2:00 p.m. The family will receive friends and loved ones an hour prior to the service. Burial will follow in the Grover Hunter Cemetery. Reverend Joe Bennett will officiate.
In lieu of flowers, memorial donations may be made to a charity of your choice.
