Barbara Penland Peek, age, 84, of the Pensacola community went Home to be with the Lord on Sunday, October 30, 2022. She was the daughter of the late Bill and Clara Atkins Penland. She was also preceded in death by a sister; Elaine McIntosh, brother; Dean Penland and a niece Kim Penland.
Surviving is her loving husband of 19 years Grady Peek, daughter; Vickie Riddle (Mike), Susan Owenby (Carroll), stepson; Dennis Peek (Rose), granddaughters: Jerri Burleson (Gene) and Jennifer Silver, great-grandchildren: Hailey Schulz (Spencer) and Samuel Burleson, brother- in- law; Claude McIntosh, sister-in-law; Mozelle Penland. Several nieces, nephews and cousins also survive.
She will be deeply missed by all. Barbara was a member of Laurel Branch Baptist Church. She was a founding member of the Pensacola Fire Department. Barbara was a beautician for many years and enjoyed doing puzzles, knitting, cake decorating, quilting baby blankets for the newborns and any kind of crafts.
A memorial service will be held at a later date. A private graveside service will be in the Penland Cemetery with Rev. Ray Strickland officiating.
