Robert Lee Wilson age 90 of Green Mountain the Pleasant Gap Community went home to be with the Lord on Sunday November 6, 2022, at his home surrounded by his loving family.
Born in Yancey County he was a son of the late Sam and Florence Robinson Wilson. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a grandson, Nolan Burgin, sister, Ona Good and brothers, Lonnie, Ray, JC, and Joseph Wilson
Robert worked on the Bridge Crew for the NC Department of Transportation and enjoyed cutting wood, hiking, and woodworking. He was a wonderful Dad and grandfather and truly loved his Lord and Savior Jesus Christ.
Left to cherish his memory is he wife of seventy-one years whom he loved and adored Ruby Hoilman Wilson of the home, daughters, Pamela Laws of Green Mtn., and Rita Wilson and husband Lyndon of Bowditch, sons, Tim Wilson and wife Iris of Mars Hills, NC and Matt Wilson and wife Michelle of Green Mtn. also, seven grandchildren, fourteen great grandchildren and two great great grandchildren. He is also survived by a sister, Lila Melvin of Wurtland, KY, brother, Roy Wilson of Micaville and a host of nieces and nephews.
A private graveside service will be held in the Wilson Family Cemetery.
