Dale Lee Hodge

Dale Lee Hodge, age 85, of Overlook Drive in Spruce Pine passed away Saturday, December 24, 2022 at the Memorial Campus of Mission Hospitals in Asheville.

Born in Carter County, TN, he was the son of the late Rev. Mack Hodge and the late Leona Burrow Hodge. He was also preceded in death by his wife of fifty-one years, Judy McKinney Hodge who passed away in 2014. Also preceding him in death was his son, David Hodge, his brother, Joel Hodge and his sisters, Mary Huffman and Sandra Vickers.

Dale was a member of the Berry Chapel Baptist Church and was a veteran of the U.S. Army where he attained the rank of Sergeant. He was retired from Henredon Furniture of Spruce Pine following thirty-two years of service where he was supervisor of the cabinet room. He was an avid fly fisherman and enjoyed being outdoors. He also enjoyed watching sunrises and sunsets, wildlife, deep sea fishing, and spending time at his cabin. And he also enjoyed listening to gospel music.

Left to cherish his memory is his daughter; Carmen Hughes and husband, Mike of Spruce Pine, his grandsons; Ethan and Zachary Hodge of Maitland, FL; his daughter-in-law; Michele Hodge of Maitland, FL; his brother; Jerry Hodge and wife, Peggy of Spruce Pine; his sister; Brenda Slagle and husband, Robert of Spruce Pine; his very special friend and companion; Mary Lou Greene of Spruce Pine and special brother-in-law, Donnie Vickers of Spruce Pine.

A memorial service to celebrate the life of Dale Hodge will be on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 at 2:00 pm at the Berry Chapel Baptist Church with Rev. Steve Williams officiating. A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Tuesday, December 27, 2022 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at the church.
