Early Voting for the second Republican Primary begins today and runs thru May 11. This primary is only for voters registered as Republican, Unaffiliated voters that voted Republican during the 1st Primary Election or Unaffiliated voters who did not vote at all.
On the ballot are the Republican nomination for lieutenant governor between Hal Weatherman and Jim O’Neill and the Republican nomination for state auditor between Jack Clark and Dave Boliek.
Beginning today, the voting hours in Mitchell County will be 8:00am – 4:30pm Monday – Friday and 8:00am – 3:00pm Saturday, May 11th. In Yancey County hours are 8:30 to 5:00 Monday through Friday and 8:00 am to 3:00 pm on the final Saturday, May 11th. The final Saturday, May 11th is the only Saturday when there is voting during this second Republican primary in either county.
Early voting is held at each county’s Board of Elections office. Election Day for this second primary is May 14th
