Rita Faye Hughes Robinson, age 76, of Burnsville, went Home to be with the Lord on Wednesday, May 22nd, 2024 at CarePartners Solace Center.
A native of Yancey County, she was a daughter of the late Rex and Helen Martha Silver Hughes. She is preceded in death as well by two brothers, Charles Hughes and Kenneth Hughes, and three infant sisters: Mary Ann, Norma Jean and Judith Lillian Hughes.
Rita was known as an amazing cook, always filling the table with wonderful food. She loved to quilt, sew and tend to her beautiful flowers. She loved the Lord dearly and, at the end of her life, kept repeating to her loved ones how she longingly wanted to be with Him. She will forever be cherished as a wonderful lady, friend, sister, wife, Mom and Nana to all her children, grandchildren and all who knew her.
She is survived by her husband, Clarence Robinson of Burnsville; daughter, Angela Gladden and husband, Jamie of Jonesborough, TN; two sons: Stanley Robinson and wife, Melissa of Winston Salem, and Scott Robinson of Birmingham, AL; 9 grandchildren, 7 great-grandchildren, and a brother, Keith Hughes of Burnsville. Special nieces, nephews and cousins also survive her.
Funeral services will be held at 3 p.m. on Saturday, May 25th in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Service. Rev. Jamie Gladden and Rev. Darrell Tipton will officiate. Graveside services will follow in the Holcombe Cemetery with Rev. Randall Robinson officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 until 3 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home.
