The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office has charged 48-year-old Christopher Scott Buchanan with felonious Death by Distribution. Buchanan was issued a $250,000 secured bond.
An investigation began in March of 2023 when Sheriff’s Office deputies responded to the overdose of a male subject. He was transported to Mission McDowell where he was later pronounced dead. Evidence in the investigation led to charges being taken out on Buchanan for the distribution of narcotics. He was arrested on May 20th.
