Larry Douglas Edwards, age 81, of Talbott, TN, passed away on Sunday, October 20th, 2024 at North Knoxville Medical Center to join his family in Heaven. A native of Yancey County, he was a son of the late Arthur and Elizabeth Phillips Edwards. He was also preceded in death by brothers: Brisco and Reece Edwards. Larry was a loving Christian, devoted husband and father who enjoyed gardening and fishing. He was a great provider and will be truly missed.
Surviving is his loving wife, Shirley Greene Edwards; son, Douglas Scott Edwards and wife, Bok, of Fletcher, NC; daughter, Tamara Van Valkenburg and husband, George, of Strawberry Plains, TN; grandchildren: Madison, Autumn and Alana (Nathan) and sister, Kay Harris and husband, Jim, of Micaville. Several nieces, nephews, cousins and extended family members also survive.
Graveside services will be held at 11 a.m. on Thursday, October 24th in the Fork Mountain Baptist Church Cemetery. Preacher TH Ferrell will officiate.
