Letta Roxie Cromeans

Letta Roxie Cromeans, born July 6th, 1936, of the Pensacola Community, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, December 19th, 2024, surrounded by her loving family. She was the beloved wife of the late John Garner Cromeans, of Texas, for a blessed 59 years. After enduring a long battle with cancer, she left her devoted family to join her husband and her children, Keith Royal, Charles David Cromeans, and John Douglas Cromeans, all of Texas. She was also preceded in death by her parents, Andy Milt Edwards and Ruby Jane (Berry) Edwards and sisters Lou Ann Hoover, Ruby Della McCracken, Ellen Ballew and brother Andy Edwards, Jr.

Roxie loved everyone and was considered a mother to all. She adored the outdoors and feeding a variety of birds that visited her every morning on the back porch. She enjoyed gardening and this was reflected in well-tended gardens that were full of life. She also loved to cook and was known for her famous chocolate cake that often resulted in a bidding war at church functions. Most of all, she loved family. This devotion carried on through the plethora of grandchildren, great-grandchildren and many friends, who always became family. God was first in her life, and her love for all of His creations shined through her in every act and deed.

Left to cherish her memory are her children, Debbie Cromeans and Donald Cromeans, along with grandchildren, Holly Beebe (Steve) (Canaan, William and Isaiah), Logan Walden (Sarah) (Sedona, Elora, Roxie and Evie), Andrew Cromeans (Stevie) (Ruby, Emma, Brooks, Oren and Presley) Amber Cromeans Cook (Josh) (Kaden, Kinley, Kaysen and Kendall), Eric Cromeans (Vika), Brian Cromeans (Leslie), special daughter in law Diane Cromeans; and special friend, John Condon and his daughter, Mariya. Her sisters Jean Edwards, Betty McEntyre, and Maxine Newton, along with many nieces, nephews, cousins, and neighbors. All will miss her dearly.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Friday, January 3rd in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Rev. Bradley Boone will officiate. Burial will follow in the Holcombe Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.
