Blue Ridge Regional Hospital has announced a $75,000 donation to Mountain Community Health Partnership (MCHP), a Federally Qualified Health Center providing healthcare services in Mitchell and Yancey counties. HCA Healthcare selected MCHP as a recipient of this $75,000 donation as part of HCA Healthcare’s $1 million commitment to Helene Disaster Recovery.

Dr. Tonia W. Hale, Chief Executive Officer and Chief Nursing Officer, Blue Ridge Regional Hospital, recently presented the check to Tim Evans, Chief Executive Officer of MCHP.

“Blue Ridge Regional Hospital is proud to support Mountain Community Health Partnership with a $75,000 donation,” said Hale. “Their tireless work in our community, especially during the challenging recovery from Hurricane Helene, exemplifies the true spirit of partnership. We are grateful for their dedication to improving the health and well-being of our residents.”

This donation will assist MCHP in its ongoing efforts to provide accessible and high-quality healthcare services to the residents of Mitchell and Yancey counties.

“We probably lost between $1M and $1.2M in renovations and equipment and furnishings in the site destroyed,” said Evans. “HCA Healthcare’s donation will go with grants and donations and every bit of money we can put together to restore adequate healthcare access for our patients by replacing our lost clinic. We are incredibly fortunate to have staff who are so flexible and resilient. All the services that were being provided before the flood have been relocated and are available to our patients in our remaining clinics.”
