Community Meetings with Independent Monitor of HCA May 12 & 13

dogwood
Community members are invited to attend upcoming meetings with Dogwood Health Trust and Affiliated Monitors, Inc. (AMI) on May 12 and 13.

AMI serves as an Independent Monitor (IM) to evaluate HCA’s compliance with its remaining commitments to the community when it acquired the Mission Health System. These commitments are set out in the Asset Purchase Agreement.

WHAT TO EXPECT AT THE MEETINGS
The IM will present and review findings from the 2023 reporting year, share details about the current process for the 2024 year, answer commonly asked questions and offer resources and contacts for where community members can go with concerns and feedback about HCA.

Representatives from the HCA Mission Health System, the North Carolina Department of Health and Human Services and the North Carolina Attorney General’s office will attend both meetings. Each representative will be available at a breakout table after the IM’s presentation to connect with directly.

There will not be an open Q&A at the meetings. Instead, attendees may submit questions or comments when registering to inform the IM’s presentation. We will also collect written questions from attendees when they check in on the day of the event. Those questions will be shared with the IM or other organizations represented for follow-up.

Attendees can attend in person, or a livestream option is also available for the Asheville meeting on May 13. Doors will open 30 minutes before each scheduled meeting. Pre-registration for the meetings is encouraged using the links below.

In addition, the IM continues to receive concerns and feedback via its website. The Independent Monitor will be in Western North Carolina from May 5-14, 2025, and welcomes invitations from civic groups, organizations and community members who want to share their experiences with HCA and the Mission Health System.
