Shirley Ann McKinney, age 78, of the Grassy Creek Community in Sprue Pine, passed away Thursday, May 1, 2025 at Autumn Care of Marion.
Born on June 2, 1946, she was the daughter of the late Floyd and Alma Self McKinney. Shirley was a member of the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. She loved to read, collect books and travel. She especially loved going to her happy place – the beach.
Left to cherish her memory is her sister and side kick; Sarah McKinney of the home. In addition, she is survived by her brother; Oscar McKinney and wife, Sandra, sister; Linda Hollifield and husband, Charles and brother; Tim McKinney and wife, Lisa, nephews; Mark Hollifield (Nina), Marvin Hollifield (Pam), Myron Hollifield (Cindy), Kevin McKinney, Ethan McKinney (Chelsea), Colten McKinney (Terra), great nephews; Christopher Hollifield (Shana), Levi Hollifield, Colby Hollifield, Caden Hollifield and Elias McKinney, great great nephews; Matthew Hollifield, David Hollifield, great nieces; Ashley Hollifield, Felicia Hollifield, Charli McKinney, Vera McKinney and Ruth McKinney.
The family will receive friends Monday, May 5, 2025 from 5:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church. The funeral service will begin on Monday, May 5, 2025 at 6:00 pm at Chestnut Grove Baptist Church with the Rev’s Matt Woody, Mark Hollifield, Marvin Hollifield, Colten McKinney and Gene Self officiating. Interment will be in the Chestnut Grove Baptist Church Cemetery.
