Glenda Sue McCullers Hughes, age 81, of the Prices Creek community went Home to be with the Lord on Tuesday, April 29, 2025. She was a daughter of the late, Alton and Mildred Jordan McCullers. She was also preceded in death by her first husband, Leon McDonald; sons: Leon Nickson Hughes and Alton Gregory Hughes; a sister, Mary Alice Weatherly; brothers: Emory McCullers and Al McCullers.
Glenda enjoyed buying and selling antiques and running her antique shop, Baskets and Chairs down in Live Oak, FL. She loved spending time with her family, she was always a care giver that put everyone’s needs before her own. Glenda was always ready to lend a hand to anyone in need. Above all she was a great woman of faith and loved her Lord. She was a member of Prices Creek Union Baptist Church.
Glenda is survived by her children, Tim Hughes of Burnsville, Sally McDonald of Asheville and Jeremiah Hughes of Raleigh, NC; grandchildren: Jesse DeJesus, Kara DeJesus, Emily DeJesus, Maddy DeJesus, Avery Hughes, Isabelle Hughes, Olivia Hughes, Ella Hughes, Cohen Hughes, Nathan Hughes and Lily Hughes; eight great-grandchildren; brother, Jimmy McCullers of Live Oak, Fl; daughter-in-law, Mary Beth Hughes.
