Join us at Dig In! Yancey Community Garden this Saturday, May 24, 1-7PM at 744 Blankenship Creek Rd. to learn about biochar production from Rachel Kinard of Working Landscapes! Biochar is a powerful soil amendment that we can produce ourselves using typical brushy yard and forest waste. Join us as we burn, learn, share a potluck supper, and jam with instruments as we wait for the brush to burn into black gold. Please bring a camp chair, a hat and gloves, a potluck dish and a favorite instrument for a musical jam. All ages welcome, but there will be a hot fire to be wary of. Visit www.diginyancey.org/events to learn more.
