Teena Buchanan Gardner, age 66, of Pine Run Ridge Road in Spruce Pine, passed away Tuesday, June 24, 2025.
Born on August 16, 1958 in Mitchell County, she was the daughter of the late Grace Buchanan Cook. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her stepfather, Wayne Cook and her grandmother, Cartha Burleson.
Teena was a member of the Berry Chapel Baptist Church. She was retired from Burleson Plumbing & Heating in Spruce Pine and she was a graduate of Harris High School. She enjoyed being outdoors, working in her flowers, and bird watching. She also enjoyed crocheting, knitting and shopping at thrift stores.
Left to cherish her memories are her husband; Melvin Gardner, her sons; Logan Burleson and wife, Lacey and Dylan Gardner, her brothers; Rocky Buchanan and wife, Janet and Ray Buchanan, her grandchildren; Grayson, Haven, Lawsyn, Elijah, Oakley and Kali, special aunt; Sue Burleson, special friends; Michelle Roberts, Wanda Sprouse and Diane Putman, and her fur baby companion, Cooper.
The family will receive friends on Thursday, June 26, 2025 at Berry Chapel Baptist Church from 5:00 pm until 6:30 pm. Graveside services and interment will be on Friday, June 27, 2025 at 11:00 am in the Berry Chapel Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev’s. Steve Williams and Mike Garland officiating.
