This 2025 summer marks the 50th Anniversary for Buck Stove when Carrol Buckner invented and sold the first “Regular Buck” to a local general store in Mitchell County, NC for manufacturing. Since then, Buck Stove has become a household name regarding wood stoves, while adding on a successful history of gas stoves and outdoor furniture.
Through the last 50 years, Buck Stove has had many successful events. Did you know that it was rumored that a Buck Stove was installed in the White House, Washington D.C. during President Jimmy Carter’s term?
Sponsoring NASCAR racing with drivers such as Dale Earnhardt, Sr. and Dave Marcis wearing Buck Stove memorabilia, owning a local professional hockey team known as the Pinebridge Bucks, and expanding our working facility in 2008 has helped in supporting the local community within the mountains of western North Carolina, as well as the economy of America.
After 9/11, Buck Stove staff worked hard to send metal cutting/welding supplies for rescue/recovery attempts after those deadly attacks. Then America has returned the love and support of Buck Stove by encouraging the community in western NC by showering residents with donations during Hurricane Helene in September 2024.
2025 is more than just a milestone in the history of Buck Stove. It has shown that one man’s idea can become a dream and livelihood for so many.
Our longest-standing employee has been with the company for 45 years this winter and continues to be a vital part of the smooth running of the corporation, as we have so many with ranges from 1 to 38 years of service. Buck Stove remains one of the privately held corporations in the area and holds lasting relationships with consumers across the country.
With its 50th anniversary, Buck Stove will be holding a public sale Thursday & Friday, July 17-18, at 200 Ethan Allen Drive, Spruce Pine, NC location. The public is invited to attend to see the renovated showroom, as it was destroyed during Hurricane Helene from water and wind damage, which includes the original style Regular Buck Stove model and other discontinued models displayed for viewing and purchase. Plans are in the works for a successful anniversary. Further plans will be announced through social media.
