Elizabeth Ruth Wallace Ferradaz, age 42, of the Humpback Community, passed away on Tuesday, July 15th, 2025, at Blue Ridge Regional Hospital.
A native of Avery County, she was a daughter of the late Leonard Jeramiah Wallace and her mother Debra Jean Linville. In addition to her father, she was preceded in death by a brother, Travis Lee Wallace; her mamaw, Ruth Linville; mother-in-law Maria Victoria Ferradaz and 5 angel babies.
Elizabeth attended Berry Chapel Baptist Church. She dedicated her time helping people and taking care of them, as an in-home nursing assistant for many years. Her dogs Ginger and Haddie were her 4-legged companions and she loved spending time with them and her family. She admired the elegant simplicity of butterflies and tulips. Elizabeth was always eagar to take a trip to Wal-Mart with her sister or travel to the beach to enjoy the sound of the waves and watch the beautiful ocean sunsets. One of her favorite pastimes was coloring.
In addition to her mother, left to cherish Elizabeth’s memory is her “Pops Michael”; her loving husband of almost 3 years, Jose Antonio Ferradaz of Spruce Pine; sister, Rebecca Wallace of Spruce Pine; brother, Keith Wallace and his wife Carolyn of Spruce Pine; father-in-law, Jose Ferradaz; godsons: Travis Eller and Blake Wallace; grandparents: Dean and Mary Ann Buchanan; uncle, David Buchanan and wife Meagan; her special friend who was like a sister, Savannah Eller and her husband Tony of Spruce Pine. Several other aunts, uncles and cousins also survive.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. on Saturday, July 19th, in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Service. The family will receive friends from 1 until 2 p.m. prior to the service at the funeral home. Doctor Mike Pinner “Uncle Mike” and Rev. Nathan Silvers will officiate. Burial will follow in McKinney Gap Cemetery on Altapass.
In lieu of flowers the family has requested that memorial donations be made to Yancey Funeral Services to help the family with expenses.
