Frances Loree Jackson Capps, age 74 of Burnsville, NC, went Home to be with the Lord on Monday, July 28th, 2025, at Mission Hospital in Asheville, NC.
Born on April 4th, 1951, she was the daughter of the late Harold and Blannie Burgess Jackson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her loving husband, Joe Capps, and their son, Matthew Shane Capps.
Loree was a bright light in a world that can sometimes appear dark. She was a loving and caring mother to her two boys, Shane and Jonathan, and a devoted wife to her husband, Joe, who served in the Marine Corps for 28 years and was a Vietnam veteran. Loree and Joe met and fell in love in Jacksonville, NC, and moved to Burnsville, NC, in 1996, where they spent 53 beautiful years together. Joe and Loree were a picture of what true love really is. Joe lovingly called Loree his “Sugarbabe” and would tell anyone who would listen that Loree was “that woman God gave him”. Together, they faithfully attended Laurel Branch Baptist Church and were active in the Bible School programs there. Loree was an exceptional cook, and crafter, and she used those skills to teach children and adults, alike, about the Lord. Loree spent her time volunteering at the Reconciliation House where she would take produce to local families and help in any way she could. In the aftermath of Hurricane Helene, Loree volunteered her time and her skills to assist families in need. God called Loree to help others, and that’s just what she did. Loree had a strong faith and often talked about Heaven and what it would be like to go there someday. Although she will be immensely missed here on Earth, we know that Loree has been reunited with her Heavenly family, and that she is rejoicing with them today. There is no more pain and no more tears; only love and bright Heavenly light.
Left behind to cherish her memory is her son, Jonathan Capps; her sisters: Brenda Lynch and Martha “Janie” Matthews; as well as several nieces and nephews, grand-nieces and nephews, many cousins, loved ones, friends, and church family.
Funeral services will be held at 1:00 p.m. on Friday, August 1st, 2025, in the Chapel of Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville, NC. The family will receive friends and loved ones one hour prior to the service for visitation. Rev. Ray Strickland and Rev. Andy Phillips will be officiating. Interment will follow the service in the Allen Family Cemetery in the Pensacola Community of Burnsville, NC.
