Martina Pritchard Jackson

Martina Pritchard Jackson, age 90, of Blossom Hill Lane in Spruce Pine, passed away Monday, August 4, 2025 at the Greens of Spruce Pine.

Born on October 7, 1934 in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Tom and Annie Ollis Pritchard. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her first husband, Harold Blossom. Also preceding her in death were her daughters; Susan Rose, Cythia Ann, and Carolyn Blossom, her brothers; Gerald and Boston Pritchard and her sister; Fostina McGuire.

Martina was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church and was a graduate of Lees-McRae College. She spent thirty-five years as a nurse and later owned Granny Mart’s Gifts and Oak Tree.

She loved watching game shows on TV, reading, playing bingo and going to live auctions. Earlier in life, she was an avid bowler. She also loved taking care of children.

Left to cherish her memories are her husband; John Jackson, her daughters; Katie Blossom and Laura Blossom-Caglioti, her sons; Ken Blossom (Paula), Bob Blossom (Erin) and Ron Blossom, her sisters; Rhyllis Carver and Lueretta Shook, her brother; Hill Pritchard, thirteen grandchildren, twenty-one great grandchildren and one great great grandchild.

The funeral service for Martina Jackson will be on Saturday, August 9, 2025 at 2:00 pm at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Darrin Waldroup and Rev. Tommy Carver officiating. Interment will be in the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery. The family will receive friends Saturday, August 9, 2025 from 1:00 pm until 2:00 pm at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church.
