Edna Robinson Geouge

Edna Robinson Geouge, age 97, of Bell Street in Spruce Pine, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, August 23, 2025 where she lived for the last twenty-four years with her daughter and son-in-law.

Edna was the daughter of the late Clingman and Ollie Carroway Robinson. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by her husband of fifty-seven years, Dale Geouge. Also preceding her in death was a son, Johnny Geouge, a daughter, Iris Geouge Cook, her grandsons; Kevin Geouge and John Dale Geouge, along with great grandsons; Isaac Geouge and Andrew Hoilman and her son-in-law; Roscoe Cook.

Edna worked hard all of her life sewing in factories and taking care of her children. She always enjoyed the neighborhood children coming to her house wanting her biscuits and jelly. She had many talents, she made clothing for her family, plus knitting, crocheting, tatting and it would be impossible to say how many caps, sweaters, scarves and dollies she has made for everyone. She was a loved little lady by all who knew her.

Edna was a member of the Blue Rock Baptist Church where she attended for most of her life. She always had farm animals and planted a large garden to can and put up for her family.

She and Dale never argued or fought about anything. And they always reminded their children and others not to say hurtful things to one another. Because you can’t unsay what you say in anger. They were in love for fifty-seven years and an excellent example for everyone.

Left to cherish her memories are her children; Wanda Norton and husband, Mark, Floyd Geouge and wife, Katheryn, and Wade Geouge and wife, Rachel, fourteen grandchildren, thirty-one great grandchildren and five great great grandchildren.
