This summer, Mitchell High School student, Brianna Serao, participated in the National Academy of Future Physicians and Medical Scientists in Boston. This experience provided her with the opportunity to build connections with other students interested in medical careers and professional members of the medical community.. She participated in several professional development seminars and surgical experiences. Her favorite parts included “meeting new people from all over the US, getting to talk to people who had a goal and were able to achieve it, getting to see a live shoulder replacement surgery, and getting to see all the speakers and hear each individual story.” Brianna is currently a sophomore taking Mitchell CTE Health Science classes as well as a HOSA member and HOSA competitor.
