Crandle Weatherman McClellan

Crandle Weatherman McClellan, age 90, of Mullin Hill Road in Spruce Pine, passed away Monday, September 15, 2025 at The Green’s of Spruce Pine.

Born on January 18, 1935 in Avery County, she was the daughter of the late Dent and Floy Hall Weatherman.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Rev. Roland McClellan who passed away in 2006. Also preceding her in death were her sons; Roland McClellan, Jr. and Dennis McClellan, her brothers; Claude, Carl, Carver and Conrad Weatherman and her sisters; Cora Robinson, Clara Rathbone and Celena Pritchard.

Crandle was a member of the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. She was a minister’s wife for over thirty years. She loved the Lord and was a faithful servant for him. She loved all of her family and friends. She was well known as an avid fan of the UNC Tar Heels. She enjoyed crocheting, puzzles and doing word search books. Before her declining health, she enjoyed gardening, canning and cooking.

Left to her memories are her daughters-in-law; Patricia McClellan and Sandy McClellan, her grandchildren; Shasta and husband, Matthew, Shane and wife, Stephanie, Sam McCellan, Malcomb Harwood, and Melissa Harwood and her great granddaughter; Alli McClellan.

The funeral service for Crandle McClellan will be on Thursday, September 18, 2025 at 6:00 pm at the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church with Dr. Darrin Waldoup and the Rev’s Jim Shoupe and Tyler Pittman officiating. The family will receive friends Thursday from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Bethel Missionary Baptist Church. Graveside services and interment will be at 10:00 am Friday, September 19, 2025 in the Bethel Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
