Tom Hall

Tom Hall, age 91, of Plumtree, passed away Tuesday, September 23, 2025, at his home.

Born on April 9, 1934, in Avery County, he was the son of the late Joseph and Nelle Hughes Hall. In addition to his parents, he was also preceded in death by an infant sister, a brother; Jimmy Hall and his sisters; Elizabeth Hall and Margaret Hall Cudd.

Tom was a U.S. Army Veteran of the Korean War. He attended the Walnut Grove Church. He was retired from the Avery County School system and was a retired Christmas tree grower and cattle farmer. His legacy was that of being a worker and he enjoyed gardening.

Left to cherish his memories are his wife of forty-one years; Carol Merrill Hall, his daughter; Rachel Townsend and husband, Brandon, his brother; Roderick Hall, and his grandchildren; Haley, Hannah, Samuel and Abigail, cousins, and a host of nieces and nephews

Graveside service and interment will be Saturday, September 27, 2025, at 11:00 am at the Hughes Cemetery with the Rev. Mike Mathes officiating.
