Mitchell County will host another Town Hall meeting to update residents on issues associated with the recovery from Hurricane Helene on Thursday, October 23 at 5:30 p.m. in the auditorium of the former Bowman Middle School in Bakersville. The public is invited to attend and get updates from Mitchell Emergency Management, the Mitchell Long-Term Resilience Group, the RenewNC Housing Program, debris cleanup programs, and planning for wildfire protection. Questions to be addressed at the Town Hall are welcome and should be submitted in advance. An online form is available for question submissions at mitchellcountync.gov/town-hall.
