Louise Robinson

Louise Robinson, age 94, of Spruce Pine, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, October 8th, 2025.  She was a daughter of the late Joe and Florence Silvers Higgins, and the wife of the late Herman Robinson.  In addition to her parents and husband, she is also preceded in death by her sister Joann Ayers and three brothers: Bobby, James and Tommy Higgins; son Charlie Briggs; and son-in-law, Larry Freeman.

Louise was a loving wife, mother, and grandmother whose heart overflowed with kindness and joy. She attended Biltmore Baptist Church, where her faith was a guiding light throughout her life. Louise had a deep appreciation for the beauty of the outdoors and could often be found tending to her flower garden. Her love of flowers reflected her gentle spirit and her ability to nurture everything and everyone around her. A talented needlepoint artist, Louise’s hands were rarely still.

She also enjoyed shopping and took pride in decorating her home, making it a warm and welcoming place for all who visited. Of all the things Louise loved, nothing compared to the time she spent with her family especially her beloved grandchildren, who brought her great happiness. She adored her husband and her daughter, whom she lovingly called her “Angel.”

Left to cherish Louise’s memory is her daughter, Donna Freeman of Spruce Pine; daughter-in-law, Jonnie Briggs of Burnsville; Grandchildren: Charlie Briggs, Dawn Pendland, Jarret, Jacob and  Jodi Freeman; 3 Great-Grandchildren; brothers:  Sammy Higgins (Nina) of Burnsville and Buddy Higgins (Emma) of Barnardsville; sister, Adaline Owenby (Boyce) of Weaverville.

Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. on Wednesday, October 15th in the chapel of Yancey Funeral Services with Rev. Skip Weiford officiating.  Burial will follow at Zion Baptist Church Cemetery.  The family will receive friends from 12 p.m. until 1 p.m. at the funeral home prior to the services.
