Greenlee Primary School has been recognized as an Apple Distinguished School for 2025–2028, one of only 21 schools in North Carolina to receive this honor. This distinction highlights Greenlee’s ongoing commitment to inspiring, imagining, and impacting teaching and learning through continuous innovation.
Apple Distinguished Schools are recognized centers of leadership and educational excellence, using Apple technology in creative and meaningful ways to support learning. At Greenlee, technology isn’t just a device— it’s part of the way students learn to think, create, and share their voices. Classrooms are alive with collaboration and curiosity as students use iPad to design projects, tell their stories, and explore new ideas. “Being named an Apple Distinguished School affirms the heart of who we are,” said Adrienne Snyder, Principal of Greenlee Primary School. “Our teachers are innovators, our students are creators, and together we’re redefining what learning looks like for young learners.”
Shana Cook, Director of Technology for Mitchell County Schools, shared, “Greenlee has worked intentionally to build a learning culture where technology enhances creativity and curiosity. This recognition celebrates the dedication of teachers who see the potential in every student.” Superintendent Chad Calhoun added, “We are so proud of Greenlee’s staff and students. Their commitment to meaningful, engaging learning is what makes this recognition so special. It reflects the spirit of resilience and creativity that defines our entire district.”
