Sheriff Shane Hilliard, accompanied by his wife Leslie Hilliard, has officially filed for his second term as Sheriff of Yancey County. Sheriff Hilliard was first sworn into office on January 1, 2022, and is seeking re-election to continue the work he has led over the past four years.
Sheriff Hilliard began his law enforcement career with the Yancey County Sheriff’s Office in 2001. With more than two decades of service, he has dedicated his career to protecting residents, strengthening community partnerships, and ensuring public safety across Yancey County.
“It has been an honor to serve as Sheriff of Yancey County for the last four years,” said Sheriff Hilliard. “I am grateful for God’s guidance and for the trust this community has placed in me. I remain committed to serving with integrity and dedication.”
