It is with deep love and sorrow that the family of Glenda Hoyle Stewart announces the passing of their beloved Glenda, who left this world peacefully on December 6th, 2025, at the age of 70.
Born on May 14th, 1955, in Spruce Pine to Weldon Richard Hoyle and Earlene Silvers Hoyle, she lived a life defined by kindness, resilience, and devotion to her family. She was a guiding light to her children, instilling in them the values of compassion, hard work, and integrity.
Glenda was not only a mother, but also a friend, mentor, and confidante. She found joy in the simple things – whether spending quiet time with family, sharing meals around the family table, or offering a listening ear. Her laughter filled our home, and her wisdom will continue to shape our lives.
She is survived by sons, Mark Stewart and Richard Stewart; siblings: Keith (Tina) Hoyle, and Sherry (Mark) Stout, and many nieces and nephews who will carry forward her legacy of love. She was preceded in death by Billy Warren Stewart, her husband of 40 years. Though she is no longer with us, her spirit remains in every story told, every tradition kept, and every act of kindness inspired by her example.
A celebration of her life will be held at Freedom Baptist Church on December 11th, 2025. Visitation will be from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m., and the funeral service will be held at 2 p.m.
In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Lupus Foundation of America, honoring her lifelong commitment to helping others.
Her memory will forever be a blessing.
