Louise Pittman Carver, age 86, of Spruce Pine, NC, passed away peacefully on December 23, 2025.
Better known to many as Tudy, Weezie, or Granny, Louise was born on May 8, 1939, to Andrew and Virgie Willis Pittman, the oldest of four children. She grew up in Bear Creek Baptist Church and loved it dearly.
During her school years, Louise was known for being feisty and outspoken. While still in school, she met the love of her life, Johnnie “Junior” Carver. After making, in her words, more trips than she could count to the pencil sharpener, they began dating and were married for 13 years.
After graduating from Bowman High School in 1957, Louise worked most of her life at Spruce Pine Mica Company and Baxter Healthcare.
She loved people and the Lord more than anything and was always praising God for her many blessings. She never met a stranger. She enjoyed Westerns, puzzle books, and talking about her grandchildren and great-grandson. Louise will be remembered for her selflessness, deep love, and witty humor.
She is survived by her grandchildren; Shelly (Brian) Smyk and Candace Carver; great-grandson Nate Smyk; sister; Carol Ann (Marty) Wise; sisters-in-law; Sue Pittman and Linda Pittman; nieces; Michelle Wise, Joy Keller, and Angela Pittman-Vanderweide; nephew; Rodney Pittman; many great-nieces and nephews; and her granddogs; Rosie and Buster.
She was preceded in death by her daughter, Sherry Carver; her parents, Andrew and Virgie Pittman; and her brothers, Durl Douglas Pittman and Harry Lee Pittman.
Viewing will be held at 1:00 p.m., followed by a Celebration of Life at 2:00 p.m. on Saturday, January 3, 2026, in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. Pastor Bruce Cannon will officiate. Interment will be in the Bear Creek Baptist Church Cemetery.
