
Mitchell County authorities say two people have been arrested in connection with an ongoing investigation into multiple larcenies at the Mitchell County Safe Place Thrift Store.
On January 9th, detectives and deputies, with assistance from the Spruce Pine Police Department, identified suspects tied to the case. Following a traffic stop, both individuals were taken into custody.
Devin James Douglass was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine, misdemeanor possession of drug paraphernalia, second-degree trespass, and misdemeanor larceny. His bond was set at 11-thousand-500 dollars.
Nikkole Marie Grover was charged with felony possession of methamphetamine and possession of drug paraphernalia. Her bond was set at 10-thousand dollars.
Both are scheduled to appear in court on February 4th, 2026. As always, all defendants are presumed innocent until proven guilty.
