The Mitchell FBLA Community Service Team has been partnering with the local Baptists on Mission Spruce Pine Rebuild Center located here in Spruce Pine. During the Christmas season, the service team decided to come alongside Baptists on Mission to assist the families being served there. A monetary donation drive was organized for local churches and non-profit organizations to contribute to. The team’s initial goal was to raise $1,500 for these families, but thanks to incredibly generous donations, they were able to collect $3,250! With these funds, the Community Service Team provided Baptists on Mission with Walmart gift cards to help ease the financial burden for local families during the holidays. This effort not only exceeded expectations but also demonstrated the power of community collaboration and the spirit of giving that defines our chapter.
