Toe Cane Beekeepers Association Meeting

Greg Rogers of Haw Creek Honey Company of Asheville will be the featured speaker at the Toe Cane Beekeeper Association’s meeting Tuesday, March 24, at the Trinity Episcopal Church, 15 Hemlock Ave., in Spruce Pine.

Rogers has been a beekeeper for more than 40 years and currently manages between 350 and 400 hives. He is a frequent presenter at the local, state, and regional levels and recently presented at the North American Honey Bee Expo in Louisville, KY. His presentation will focus on how he sets up his hives to maximize honey production and overwintering success.

The evening will begin at 6 p.m. with a bee community social. Light refreshments will be served. The official meeting and presentation will start at 6:30 p.m. The event is free and open to the public.

The Toe Cane Beekeepers Association is a 501(c)(3) tax-exempt nonprofit promoting sustainable beekeeping practices in Mitchell, Avery, and Yancey counties.
