Johnny Ray Ollis

Johnny Ray Ollis, age 83, passed away, surrounded by his loving family on Saturday, March 7, 2026 at Johnson City Medical Center.

A native of Jonas Ridge, Johnny was born on December 8, 1942. He was the son of the late George and Edith Ollis. In addition to his parents, Johnny was preceded in death by his wife, Revonda; his daughter, Regina Ledford; one granddaughter, Chelsea Smith; two brothers: Paul and Cecil Ollis, and one sister, Debbie Singleton.

Left to cherish the memory of Johnny is his two sons: Wayne Ollis and his partner Eric Fields of Elizabethton, TN, and Douglas Warren and his wife, Lisa of Portland, TN; three daughters: Tamatha Guinn and her husband Robert of Newland, NC, Pamela Bolden and her husband Rusty of Hickory, NC and Melissa Andrews and her husband Matt of Elizabethton, TN; nine grandchildren, Kimberly Harris and her husband Levi of Hickory, NC, Allen Townsend and his wife Joyi of Taylorsville, NC, Ashley Robinson and her husband Zac of Jonas Ridge, NC, Emily Potter and her husband Jesse of Roan Mountain, TN, Jonathan McDaniel of Valdese, NC, Kenneth McDaniel of Valdese, NC, Billie Gentry and her husband Eric of Minneapolis, Bobbie Ledford of Minneapolis, and William Ledford and his wife Melinda of Roan Mountain, TN; sixteen great grandchildren and 8 great great-grandchildren; three brothers: David Singleton of Morganton, NC, Joe Ollis and his wife Martha of Morganton, NC and Rick Singleton and his wife, Deanna of Morganton, NC; two sisters: Marcella Crawford of Morganton, NC and Becky Smith and her husband, Jimmy of Gameweld, NC as well as many friends he made along the way.

A funeral service to celebrate and remember the life of Johnny will be held on Thursday, March 12, 2026 at 3:30 pm in Jonas Ridge Baptist Church, with the Rev. Donald Gragg and Rev. Traley Clawson officiating. Interment will follow immediately in the church cemetery. The family will receive friends at the church prior to the service from 2:00 pm – 3:30 pm.
