Juanita Waldrop, age 72, of Buncombe County, passed away on March 13, 2026, surrounded by her loving family. She was born on June 12, 1953, to the late James Paul Hollifield and Beth Ruth Suttles.
Juanita was married to her loving husband, Kenneth “Ken” Waldrop, for 55 years. She devoted 34 years of her life to serving others at Smokey Ridge Health & Rehabilitation and was a faithful member of Cherith Brook Church.
Known for her generous spirit, she loved helping people and always put others before herself. She enjoyed traveling, yard sales, and spending time with her husband, children, and grandchildren.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother, Terry Hollifield; mother‑in‑law, Dollie Waldrop; father‑in‑law, Frank Waldrop; and brothers and sisters‑in‑law: Dorothy Burrell, Glen Waldrop, and Helen Blaire.
Left to cherish her memory are her loving husband, Kenneth Waldrop; daughter, Melissa Waldrop of South Toe; sons: Kenny Waldrop of Burnsville and Matthew Waldrop of Bakersville; grandchildren: Savannah Buchanan, Lawson Ayers, Dylan Waldrop, Kenzie Waldrop, Abbie Waldrop, and James Waldrop; brothers: Jerry Hollifield and Danny Hollifield; sisters: Lois Hollifield, Pam Duckett, and Penny Hollifield; and brother-in-law, Gary Waldrop.
Funeral services will be held Thursday, March 19, 2026, at 1 p.m. at Holcombe Brothers Funeral Home in Burnsville, NC. Visitation will take place from 12 p.m. to 1 p.m. prior to the service. Pastor Charlie Robinson will officiate. Interment will follow at Dulaney Cemetery.
