The Mitchell County Chamber of Commerce is pleased to announce a new three-year contract agreement with the Mayland Community College Enterprise Corporation to host the North Carolina Mineral and Gem Festival at the Three Peaks Enrichment Center.

This partnership secures the festival’s location at the Three Peaks Enrichment Center for the next three years, providing stability and an enhanced experience for vendors, visitors, and the local community. The North Carolina Mineral and Gem Festival, a long-standing regional attraction, draws thousands of attendees each year and highlights Mitchell County’s rich mining heritage and vibrant artisan community.

The Three Peaks Enrichment Center offers expanded space, improved accessibility, and modern amenities that will allow the festival to continue growing while maintaining its reputation as one of the premier gem and mineral events in the Southeast.

“This agreement represents a significant step forward for the future of the festival and our local economy,” said Bill Slagle, Executive Director of the Mitchell County Chamber of Commerce and Economic Development Commission. “We are excited to partner with Mayland Community College Enterprise Corporation to ensure the North Carolina Mineral and Gem Festival continues to thrive in a location that supports its growth and enhances the experience for everyone involved.”

The Mitchell County Chamber of Commerce looks forward to building on the festival’s success through this collaboration and continuing to showcase the unique cultural and natural assets of the region.

The NC Mineral and Gem Festival will be held July 30-August 2, 2026. For more information visit www.ncgemfest.com or call the Chamber office.
