Extension of Yancey-Mitchell Landfill Closure

Due to the heavy rain this past week the Yancey Mitchell Landfill will have to extend the closure through  May 30th. The YANCEY –MITCHELL Landfill will RE-OPEN JUNE 1, 2020 The Yancey-Mitchell Landfill will be temporally diverting all trash to the Avery County Landfill. Mercy Urgent Care Now Offering Viral and Antibody Testing For COVID-19

Mercy Urgent Care is now offering two types of COVID-19 testing, viral testing and antibody testing, at all eight of its urgent care facilities across Western North Carolina. Ledger, NC (May 21, 2020). The Avery County Health Department, part of Toe River Health District, was notified that an Avery County resident has tested positive for novel Coronavirus (COVID-19).
