64 Years of Grandfather Games

For the past 64 years a taste of Scotland has been invading the mountains. Mitchell Commissioners Allot $150,000 Toward Hotel

Mitchell County Commissioners have allotted $150,000 as financial assistance to Mayland Community College for the Pinebridge Inn project. The money will come out of their general revenue fund. It will be used for renovations and repairs.  After improvements Mayland hopes to receive a certificate of occupancy for the Inn and operate it as a lodging facility for paying guests. New Yancey Schools Superintendent Sworn In

Kathy Amos has officially been sworn in as the next Superintendent of Yancey County Schools. The short ceremony was held in the Board of Education office at 5:30pm on Monday July 8th 2019.
