James Andrew ‘Jim’ Norris, age 69, of Crystal Drive in Spruce Pine, the Carter’s Ridge community, passed away Thursday, May 16, 2024 at his home.
Born on August 8, 1954 in Sullivan County, NH, he was the son of Bill Norris and the late Bernice Robinson Norris. In addition to his mother, he was also preceded in death by his sister, Sandra.
Jim was a member of the Grassy Creek Baptist Church where he enjoyed teaching Sunday School. He was the former owner of Feldspar Trucking Company of Spruce Pine. He enjoyed family golf outings, playing with his grandchildren and working.
Left to cherish his memory is his wife of forty-one years; Jan Norris of the home; his children; Bailey Huskins and husband, Cole; McKenzie Angel and husband, Drew; Dakota Norris and wife, Keri; Lakin Ayers and husband, Dustin and Lawson Norris and wife, Philesia; his sister; Debora Buchanan and husband, Randy and his grandchildren; Camden and Luke Norris; Everett and Harlyn Huskins; Rowan and Adelyn Norris and Barrett Ayers.
A time to support the family, share memories and receive friends will be on Sunday, May 19, 2024 from 4:00 pm until 6:00 pm at Grassy Creek Baptist Church. The funeral service will be at 5:30 pm on Monday, May 20, 2024 at Grassy Creek Baptist Church with the Rev. Nathan Silver officiating. Interment will be in the Grassy Creek Memorial Gardens.
