Join the MY Prevention and Recovery Coalition and Freedom Life Ministries at Be The Village on Saturday, May 16th from 11am-1pm on the Burnsville Town Square. This free, welcoming community event encourages individuals, families, and organizations to come together to connect and support one another in building a healthier, stronger community.
Enjoy fun for the whole family like yard games, food trucks, face painting, live music, a movie screening, raffles, the bookmobile, balloons and giveaways! There will also be opportunities to meet local organizations, learn about services, engage in meaningful conversations, and help break down stigma around mental health and substance use.
Bring a blanket or lawn chair to sit on the square to enjoy live music and speakers sharing their inspirational personal stories of recovery. Grab some delicious free food, while supplies last, from the Pig & Grits food truck or cool down with a sweet treat from Pelican’s SnoBalls.
MY Prevention and Recovery Coalition will be hosting a FREE showing of Screenagers: Next Chapter at 11:30 am in the First Baptist Church fellowship hall just off the square. Families are encouraged to drop in to the film showing and grab some free popcorn and drinks. Screenagers: Next Chapter explores how social media, online pressures, and digital stress are affecting teens’ mental health, relationships, and sense of self.
Make sure to visit Be the Village sponsors around the square to make connections, find out about local resources, and to check off your bingo card so you can get extra raffle tickets to win fun prizes!
Come as you are, bring a friend, and be part of the village.
