Gail Galgano, age 72, of Spruce Pine, NC passed away on November 15, 2025 at the Care Partners Hospice-Solace Center in Asheville, NC.
She was born September 17, 1953 to the late Ed and Louise McMahan Hughes. She was also preceded in death by a sister Patricia Rowe.
Left to cherish her memory are her sons; Jake Matheson of Spruce Pine and Chance Rainey (Deidra), also of Spruce Pine. Daughters; Andrea McKinney (Chris) of Spruce Pine, Misty Evans (Travis) of Burnsville, and Krista Rainey (Matthew) of Spruce Pine; 12 grandchildren and many great grandchildren.
Ms. Galgano was a long-time employee of Habitat for Humanity, a job which she took very seriously and worked very hard serving her community. She was described by her family as a very generous and caring person. Also, Ms. Galgano had a very deep love for animals.
A memorial service for Ms. Galgano is being planned for a later date.
