Mary Louise Weitzel, 86, passed away on January 11, 2026, at Charles A Cannon Memorial Hospital in Linville, NC.
Marylou, as she was known, was born on May 21, 1939, in Auburndale, FL to the late James W. and Helen Grace Jenkins.
Mary graduated from Robert E. Lee High School in Jacksonville, Florida. She was an administrator for Southern Bell and was promoted to upper management. She enjoyed painting, antiquing, and scrapbooking. Additionally, Mary was a member of Riverside Baptist Church of Jacksonville, FL.
In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her sisters, Pat Jenkins and Betty Treisback.
Marylou is survived by her husband, James Thornton Weitzel, Sr.; children, James Thornton Weitzel, Jr. and spouse Holly Lee Weitzel of Bluffton, SC, Monica Rae Nunley, and Marvin J. Nunley of Elk Park, NC; grandchildren, Amber Nicole Weitzel, Thomas James Weitzel, Jericho Nash Nunley, Dawson Lee Nunley; and sister, Jinx Rivers.
The family will receive friends at Webb Funeral Home on Friday, January 16, 2026, from 3:00 until 4:00 pm. Following the visitation, entombment will be in the Sprue Pine City Cemetery Mausoleum.
