The McDowell County Sheriff’s Office is warning the public about a dangerous synthetic drug known as cychlorphine. Authorities say the substance can be up to ten times stronger than fentanyl, and even a very small amount can be deadly. Officials warn the drug has been found in fake pills and other street drugs, increasing the risk for unsuspecting users.
Emergency responders say overdoses involving cychlorphine may require multiple doses of naloxone, also known as Narcan, to reverse the effects. Law enforcement is urging the public not to touch or handle any unknown substances and to avoid all illegal drugs, stressing that exposure could be life-threatening. The Sheriff’s Office encourages residents to stay informed and seek help if needed.
