Mary Florence McGinnis Gravitt age 86 passed away Tuesday May 14, 2024, at the Waters of Roan Highlands Nursing Home in Roan Mountain, TN.
Born in Forsyth County, GA, she was a daughter of the late Lawson and Gladys Bone McGinnis. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by ten siblings.
Florence loved her grandchildren and great grandchildren and she also loved to make handmade jewelry.
Left to cherish her memories is her daughter Melissa Rooney (Steve) of Newland, granddaughters, Emma Rooney (Conor Michelli) of Vancouver, WA and Katelin Cummings (Zac) of Spartanburg, SC, grandson, Noah Rooney of Nashville, TN, great grandsons, Mason and Levi, great granddaughter, Vivian and two sisters, Mrya Jo Payne and Becky Sutton both of Woodstock, GA.
Inurnment of Mrs. Gravitt will be held at a later date in the Greenlawn Cemetery in Roswell,GA. No local services are planned.
The family would like to send out a special Thank You to the Staff of the Waters at Roan Highlands for the care they provided to Florence.
