Congratulations to the Mitchell Miners Wrestling Team on winning their 2nd consecutive Team NC Jr. High State Championship Team Title!!!
The Miners placed twelve wrestlers en route to the Championship.
They were: 6th Grade- Liam Biddix (1st), RJ Watson (1st), Jayko Erwins (4th), and RJ Wences 4th, 7th Grade- Rebecca Smith (2nd) ,Lawson Ayers (3rd), Julien Reed (3rd), Cullen Sparks (3rd), Oscar Burleson (4th), Madon Davis (4th), 8th Grade- Kylie Geouge (2nd), David Arvizu (3rd)
Mitchell High School girls also took part in the event and came away with two champions (Katie Stowe and Jayceemae Erwin) as well as two 2nd place finished (Payton Buchanan and Sophie Robertson) The Mountaineer ladies will be back in action Wednesday in the state 1a-2a Womens HS Regional set for Mount Pleasant HS.
