Mission Health has completed significant renovations at Hope Women’s Cancer Center, located at 100 Ridgefield Court in Asheville, expanding access to high-quality cancer care for women across Western North Carolina. The upgrades mark the first major renovation to the space since 2007 and reflect Mission Health’s continued investment in meeting the growing needs of the region.

“This investment in Hope Women’s Cancer Center strengthens our ability to serve patients across Western North Carolina with expanded capacity, coordinated care, and an environment that supports both patients and their loved ones,” said Dr. Timothy Vanderkwaak, gynecologic oncologist with Mission Health.

The renovation expanded the infusion suite from 12 to 16 infusion chairs and added six new clinical spaces, including five exam rooms and one additional treatment room. Infusion areas were redesigned to offer more privacy and comfort, with larger spaces that allow patients to have a support person with them during treatment, dedicated seating for companions, and room to store personal belongings. A separate check-in desk for infusion patients was also added to improve efficiency and reduce wait times.

Additional improvements include enhanced ADA accessibility and a refreshed environment with more open space, brighter paint, improved lighting, and an overall more healing and uplifting atmosphere designed to support patients throughout their cancer journey.

Hope Women’s Cancer Center specializes in gynecologic and breast cancer care, providing personalized treatment plans delivered by a multidisciplinary team of breast and gynecologic oncologists, surgeons, nurse practitioners, and nurse navigators. Patients receive coordinated care in one location, with navigators managing appointments, treatments, imaging, and follow-up to reduce stress and ensure continuity of care. In addition to clinical expertise, Hope offers physical, emotional, and spiritual support in a setting designed to promote comfort and healing.

Through Mission Health’s broader cancer care services, patients across Western North Carolina have access to comprehensive oncology care, including advanced diagnostics, chemotherapy, radiation therapy, surgical oncology, palliative care, genetics, pediatric cancer services, and survivorship support. Together, these services ensure patients and families can receive high-quality, compassionate cancer care close to home.
