The property and building housing Spruce Pine Chevrolet have officially been sold, marking an important milestone for the dealership and the broader Mitchell County business community.
The new owner, Ali Talebi of Spruce Pine Chevrolet, has completed the purchase of the real estate where the dealership currently operates. This acquisition secures the dealership’s long-term presence in Mitchell County and lays the foundation for future growth and investment. Spruce Pine Chevrolet currently employs 28 people, underscoring its important role as a local employer and economic contributor.
Wade and Dustin Hughes of Carolina Mountain Development, the previous property owners, extended their congratulations to Talebi and his team.
“We would like to congratulate Ali Talebi and Spruce Pine Chevrolet on the purchase of the building and property,” they shared. “We wish him and his team continued success and thank them for their contributions to the people and economy of Mitchell County.”
The transaction reflects not only a successful business deal, but also a strong collaboration among local leaders. Special recognition was given to Bill Slagle, Executive Director of the Mitchell County Chamber of Commerce & Economic Development Commission (EDC), for his role in facilitating the agreement.
“Bill was instrumental throughout the entire process,” said Wade Hughes. “He understood the importance of Spruce Pine Chevrolet to our community—not just for the jobs it provides, but for keeping commerce local. His consistent communication and ability to bring both parties together helped ensure a mutually beneficial outcome.”
Slagle reflected on the process and partnership that led to the successful closing:
“It’s been my pleasure to work alongside these two families over the past eight months. We worked hard, we prayed hard, we persevered, we negotiated, and I thank the Lord that we were able to reach a very positive outcome.”
Talebi echoed that sentiment, emphasizing the EDC’s impact on both the transaction and the county’s ongoing growth.
“Since acquiring Spruce Pine Chevrolet GMC, my goal has been to grow the business while giving back to the community,” said Talebi. “Mitchell County is experiencing exciting growth, and Bill Slagle has been a key part of making that happen. Securing this property was essential to our long-term plans.”
As part of those plans, Spruce Pine Chevrolet is already preparing for expansion. Initial improvements will include the addition of three new service doors to increase capacity, along with the hiring of two to three technicians and a service advisor. These enhancements represent the first phase of a broader vision to grow the dealership’s operations and better serve customers.
Talebi also expressed appreciation to the community that has supported the dealership’s success.
“I would like to thank the people of Mitchell County—none of this would have been possible without their support,” he said. “We look forward to continuing to give back to this great community.”
The sale, which officially closed on March 9, 2026, highlights the strength of local partnerships and the shared commitment to economic growth and sustainability in Mitchell County.
