Janice Ollis Ingram, age 78, of Linville Falls, North Carolina, died peacefully in her home on Friday April 24, 2026. Janice was born March 12, 1948, in Avery County, North Carolina to the late Boyd Otis Ollis and the late Rosa Lee “Bobby” Carpenter Ollis. In addition to her parents, she was also preceded in death by two brothers, Jess Ollis and Joe Ollis and one sister, Julia Burleson.
Janice graduated from Crossnore High School in 1966 and continued to enjoy the yearly reunions and getting together with her former classmates. She spent most of her working years employed by Baxter Healthcare where she worked tirelessly so she could build a life for herself and her two daughters. After over thirty years, Janice retired and spent her remaining years devoted to spending time with family and friends. She was an avid gardener and could often be found in her yard planting and tending to her wide variety of flowers.
Janice was a devoted friend. She made many friends throughout her lifetime and enjoyed maintaining those friendships through outings, visits and time on the phone checking in on everyone. She had an uncanny ability to remember birthdays, important dates, and special occasions. She always made sure to reach out by sending cards or calling to celebrate these events.
Janice’s greatest role in this life was the role of “Grandma.” Her love for her grandkids and great grandkids knew no bounds. She never missed an opportunity to spend time with them, and they loved going to Grandma’s House. She was always up for a picnic, sleepover and the occasional theme park. She made sure that they have many unforgettable memories of their times with her.
Janice will be remembered for her unmatched love for her family and her dedication to the true friendships she nurtured throughout her lifetime.
Left to cherish her memory are her two daughters, Darlene Marsh(Jimmy) of Burnsville, NC and Jeanie Ingram of Linville Falls, NC; brother, Jack Ollis (Glenna) of Newland, NC; grandchildren: Dylan Banner (Marisa) of Rocky Mount, NC; Savannah Woody (Davey) of Spruce Pine, NC; Erikka Banner of Linville Falls, NC and Caleb Marsh of Burnsville, NC; great-grandkids: Makenzie and Clark Woody of Spruce Pine, NC; special friend Kenny Yonce of Boone, NC who she unofficially adopted into the family; and a host of nieces, nephews, cousins and friends.
Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 p.m. Wednesday April 29, 2026 in the Chapel of Webb Funeral Home. Pastor Brent Price will be officiating. The family will receive friends one hour prior to the services. A Graveside Service will follow in the Boyd Ollis Family Cemetery in Linville Falls, North Carolina.
