Rita Yelton Jackson passed away at age 58 on May 11, 2026, at 12:47pm in Burnsville, NC.
Rita was born to parents William (Bill) Yelton, and Anita Kate Yelton, in Washington D.C, and lived primarily in the Spruce Pine and Burnsville, NC areas. Rita was a proud mother, known as an excellent worker in hospitality, and an avid craft maker.
Rita loved crafting with natural materials she found outside of, and around her residence, for her friends and family. Additionally, she was a member of Snow Hill Baptist Church.
She was preceded in death by her father, William (Bill) Yelton, and her husband Michael Jackson Sr.
She is survived by her Mother, Anita Kate Yelton of Spruce Pine NC, sister, Lisa Sparks, of Marion, NC, brother, Keith Yelton (Karen), of Bakersville NC, children, Sierra McGee (Matthew) of Unicoi TN, Michael Jackson Jr of Raleigh NC, George (Billy) Jackson, of Bakersville NC, her grandchildren, Aydan and Abram McGee, and special friend Melissa Hunter Garland.
Friends and family will be welcome to view Rita, and celebrate her life on Thursday, May 14, 2026, from 1pm-2pm, and a service will be held directly after, officiated by Skip Weiford, at Webb Funeral Home, Spruce Pine, NC.
Her remains will be cremated afterwards, as per her family’s wishes.
