Reba Robinson Boone

Reba Robinson Boone, departed this life peacefully on Wednesday, January 7th, 2025, at her and her daughter’s residence in Morganton. A native of Yancey County she was a daughter to the late Grayson and Eva Robinson. In addition to her parents she was also preceded in death by a son, Garry Boone; two granddaughters: Cynthia “Cindy” Boone and Veronica Boone Buchanan; four brothers: Jessie Lee, Kenneth, Jack and Brown Robinson; and two sisters: Edith Crowder and Jean Smith.

Reba lived many years in Lenoir where she worked at the cotton mill. She then worked at Valdese Weavers until she retired. Later in life she moved to Morganton to be with her daughter and family who took exceptional care of Reba during her final days. She was an avid reader and loved spending time outside working in her flower garden. Reba was fond of her canine companions, especially her beloved “Snowball.” She could often be found sitting on the couch; watching and listening to old movies and westerns on the television.

Above all else Reba was a dedicated “Mama” and “Granny.” Family was of most importance to her and she loved each of them in her own special way. She constantly made sure everyone around her was okay and well cared for. Reba’s giving nature and compassionate spirit will be remembered by everyone who’s path crossed hers.

Reba leaves behind a lifetime of love with her son, Terry Boone (Gail) of Spruce Pine; daughter, Carolyn Webb (Alan) of Morganton; grandchildren: Kayla Boone, Kelly Webb and Robert Webb (Debbie); great-grandchildren: Journey Boone, Tiffany Riddle and Chelsea Price; great-great-grandchildren: Remington, Raylon and Mason; and brother-in-law, Robert Smith of Marion. A host of nieces, nephews and extended family members also survive.

Funeral services will be held at 2:30 p.m. on Sunday, January 11th, 2026 in the Chapel of Yancey Funeral Services. Steve Taylor will be officiating. Burial will follow in the Gurley Cemetery. The family will receive friends from 1:30 p.m. until 2:30 p.m. prior to the services at the funeral home.

The Boone family would like to extend a heartfelt thank you to Morganton Hospice for the wonderful care and compassion provided by their staff to Reba and her family.
